DICWC Respectfully Demands that the State of Western Australia:

1. Re-open the Coronial Inquest into Mr. Ward's death;

2. Orders an independent review of the DPP's decision not to bring criminal charges by either a retired Supreme Court Judge or retired High Court Judge from outside WA;

3. Table in Parliament the evidence and advice that the Director of Public Prosecutions used to make the decision that no criminal charges would be laid;

4. Terminate the G4S Contract immediately - return transportation of detained persons back to the Department of Corrective Service - end privatization;

5. Establish independent and effective investigations of deaths in custody;

6. Change current laws so that parties responsible for any similar deaths in custody in the future will be held criminally responsible - Introduce new offenses of corporate and custodial manslaughter and,

7. Public Inquiry into institutionalised racism in the WA criminal justice system.
